Autumn Clean Up: Extra and Final @ 9:24 AM + 0 comment/s
6. Live simply and do not complicate life. This is not about taking the easy way out because life is mysteriously exciting and full of adventures. This is about picking the simple decisions among the complex human problem algorithm in every life situation. Life is quite simple: There's always a way when it comes to wanting something, and the rest just falls under the "No" category. It's only when another person's freedom is violated and respect is denied that stopping can be an option.
I have gone through life with this simple mindset because there's no need to be absorbed by the warp of complications when I knew what I wanted at the first place. There are far more important things to feel in this life more than forcing a clean slate life, constantly ending relationships, sticking to values that will never be put into actions, and detesting changes that do not happen. (etc.)
As a reminder to myself, it is not healthy to seek for others who seem to love their distress. With these issues becoming common, people seem to forget what it means to live. I am not someone who liked emotional complications at the first place and I only wanted to have fun.
It is never wrong to want to protect without asking for anything back, it is never wrong to give unconditionally, and it is never wrong to walk away when I am hurting and suffocating alone. Feelings are valid and this is the only thing that can never be taken away from a person.
With this final clean up, I am done and free to seek for more adventures.

Autumn Clean Up @ 10:09 AM + 0 comment/s
Spring clean up is too mainstream while autumn illustrates death and therefore, matches more perfectly with this phase. Personally, this is more than just the end of my student life but also of those hesitations I repeatedly embraced because of the fear of being empty handed at the end. From my idle months, I have seen the limits that must be recognized and realized that more than anything else that can be spent, time should always come last. With all the opportunities accompanying the vast freedom after graduation, it is every person's responsibility to consume this freedom properly, to face their fears, to know themselves, and to start building up their lives without wasting time as much as possible. Through the story closures, creepy candle burning ceremonies, reflection blogs, and memory lane adventures, these are the main points I identified and should start applying in life.
People have their own way of understanding others. I once thought of creating a guidebook for understanding me because even my close friends just don't understand whether I'm being too alien or something. Of course, I didn't have too and I should stop thinking of making one. Like what they say, a person's attitude depends on the person he's dealing with. I am aware of how I am to people and I know myself best more than anyone. If there's one thing constant between myself and others, it's that my personality is not set in stone and I'll keep growing proving that I'm beyond the façade I'm wearing. After all, it's always fun to prove others wrong.
Taking after a friend's explanation, I also believe that 'misunderstanding' is the sum of people's impatience of understanding someone. People will always have sturdy categories that everyone should comply with and I am not interested in knowing every point of those categories because in every misunderstanding, there's always this subtle method called asking to clear up everything.
Spend time with right people. This is similar with not taking friends for granted but there's a thin line between putting value in the idea and putting the value into action. It's easy to know who the right people are even when the feelings are not mutual. It is love that brings an individual to cross oceans, give more than what is expected of them, and learn to be happy in the background for others when you just can't secure a place in their lives anymore. I know the feeling of being treated like shit and I'm smart enough to know if the significant people in my life deserves to feel the same way.
Stay humble. I've already been oriented with this idea in high school when I was told, "Wala kang mapagmamalaki". I know I'm capable but I'm not smart. I haven't proven myself, I have zero to no luck with life, and life will always not go well if I let my pride get the best out of me. I may not get the best job, have the highest salary, and the warmest working environment, but the most important tip is to be careful on where I stand because now more than ever, freedom is limited to the position and the pride of others. Life will always have its way of balancing the world and nothing will be lost immediately if I stay careful.
Be partial and unselfish. CL said, "I’ve experienced my share of failure, rejection and despair, that’s why I possess both cold-heartedness and good judgment. I didn’t build the wall, you were the one who put the cement on what was “a wall". I know all too well that people only see what they want to see and remember what they want to remember". People have had their own share of the world, including myself . Knowing this, it's best to know that it's never fair to negate someone's existence because they're not deserving of your acknowledgement. I had some failures for this part but as a start for this new chapter, it's best to apply this act of humanity and fairness at all times.
Most importantly, I discovered one common thing among the friends I consider as my precious treasures in life --- the unselfishness. Sometimes, aside from giving people a chance to be in your life, it's also a beautiful thing to put others ahead of you. As early as now, I do not want to live with regrets and it's best to give because as I mentioned, the world will always have its way of giving back. If there are some mishaps along the way of doing this, I'm lucky to know that I have my life model to guide me
Stand your ground and have the courage to be happy. I'm not sure what these statements mean to me yet. Probably, after a horrible one night regret last year, I realized that it's best to walk away if people will try to shake your ground. I'm not broken, I'm not desperate for approval, and like people who have only thought of doing good, I only want to go home with no regrets and just feel happy. To be honest, I don't feel the need of people telling me that I deserve better until I'm shown what 'better' is whether it's about getting better offers, better friends, or better feelings. People can choose to be happy but they have no choice when they don't feel it. I don't know what it takes to feel more but the only thing I'm sure off is to live and be brave enough to risk it.
I am not fond of committing. I cannot commit to have all these fulfilled consistently because life has its own way of testing your principles. I write these points here as a challenge. There's nothing wrong in cleaning up the mistakes I realized as long as it dies along with this season. The least I could do now is test these principles and see for myself if this will make me a better person.
